Who we are

The company is led by Katia Betito, Ph.D., a regulatory affairs professional with more than 30 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs, including expert knowledge of Health Canada regulations, guidelines and policies.  A graduate of McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, Katia Betito holds a Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Therapeutics (1993) and a Bachelor’s degree in Physiology (1987).  Dr. Betito has lectured in Pharmacology in both introductory and graduate courses in the Department of Pharmacology, and in an MBA Pharmaceutical Entrepreneurship Course in the School of Management, at McGill University, and has published numerous articles in peer review journals.   

Immediately following graduate school in 1992, Dr. Betito joined Sabex Inc. (now Sandoz), a pharmaceutical manufacturer of sterile products, as Manager, Regulatory Affairs, later occupying the position of Director of Regulatory Affairs.  In this capacity, Dr. Betito oversaw a department which was responsible for federal and provincial affairs, medical information and clinical trials.  In 1999, Dr. Betito joined Paladin Labs Inc., as their Executive Director, Scientific Affairs.  In this capacity, Dr. Betito’s responsibilities included regulatory affairs at both federal and provincial levels, supervision of new and ongoing clinical trials, supervision of quality control and medical information.   

In 2003, Dr. Betito launched RegPharm Consulting Inc., providing strategic guidance and assistance to companies in the Canadian regulatory approval process.  Dr. Betito has served as the Montreal representative for the Canadian Association of Professional Regulatory Affairs (CAPRA), is on the CAPRA Symposium Committee and has been the regulatory affairs representative for an industry trade association.
